Important advice

Arrival/Key-handover/Drive through the island

a. Arrival

If you arrive after 18.00 hrs, please make sure you inform your travel agent (Telephone 00385 98 178 74 72)

In case of missing communication/information/payment, the agency has the right to let the object for sale again.

b. Key-handover

The key will be handed to you during our office hours. Should you arrive outside our office hours, please contact our 24 hour telephone service. The key will be available immediately.

If departing guests leave the accommodation late (regular departure is normally 10 pm) you should be able to get to your rooms at 14.00 hrs, as our cleaners need some time to clean them to your satisfaction.

c. Drive through the island

To judge the time it may take you to drive through the island you have to consider the following:
- the islands Cres and Losinj have many winding roads.
- In some areas the roads are very narrow.
- You will want to make a few breaks to take photographs of the breathtaking scenery

Airconditioning/Heating

Not all units or rooms have airconditioning or heating, so please make sure we now about your preference when you are making a booking, so we can make sure that you get what you need for your comfort.

Apartments with Kitchen

Every kitchen/kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, a cook top with 2 or 4 cooking plates, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils.

Please inform us immediately at your arrival of any missing cutlery, crockery or utensils.

You will have to buy or bring your own dishwashing liquid and toilet paper.

Burglaries/Stealing

Like anywhere else, burglaries can happen. For this reason we recommend you to use a safe (if available).
Agave Travel Agency is not responsible for stolen goods.

Cleaning of your rooms or unit

Units:  unit cleaned at your arrival and departure
  Towels changed every 3 days
  Bed linen changed weekly

If your apartment is not sufficiently clean at your arrival, we ask you to get into contact with your travel agent immediately.

The dishes have to be cleaned by yourself before your departure.

Cots

In private apartments there are normally no cots available. If you need a cot for your child, please let us know when you make the booking. There will be an extra fee charged.

Credit cards

The following credit cards are widely accepted in most hotels and restaurants: Visa, Eurocard, American Express and Mastercard.

Currency

The Croatian currency is the Euro. Currency exchange is available in every hotel or village.

Drinking Water

According to Health organizations in Croatia, the water from the tap on the islands Cres and Losinj is drinking water. We would still recommend for children to buy the mineral water as an added precaution.

Electricity

Ferry connections

Since you are accommodated on an island, we recommend you familiarize yourself with the current Ferry timetable to avoid unnecessary delays.

Flight Specials

Many airlines have special deals to Croatia.

The closest airports to the island Cres are:
Rijeka airport on the island Krk,
Pula airport in Pula and Pleso airport in Zagreb.

The driving time from the airports to the Ferry is as follows:
From airport Rijeka to Valbiska about 30 minutes
From airport Pula to Porozina about 1 hour 15 minutes
From airport Zagreb to Valbiska about 2 ½ hours

Language

Our language is Croatian. But in the hotels and restaurants most staff speak German or English.

Pets

Many resorts and apartments in Croatia do not allow pets. Please inform yourself before your journey, if at your particular accommodation pets are allowed. You definitely have to mention your pet at your booking and payment for the extra fee can be made at your arrival.
Hygiene reasons prohibit the pets to be taken to restaurants, the swimming pool and at the most beaches.

Time difference

We have middle European Summer time and therefore no time difference to Germany.

Tips

Tips are always welcomed by your tour guides, in restaurants or hotels, especially if you liked the service you were getting. When paying your bill at a restaurant, it is customary to leave an extra 5 – 15 % of your bill on the plate for your waiter as a little “Thank you”.

Traveling out of season

If you take advantage of out of season specials, it might happen that the entertainment at these times is not as varied as in the main season. The advantage of that is that you have no crowded beaches or restaurants, as there are not so many people around.
