Climate

At the end of the 19^th century the scientists started to study the climate of the island Losinj. In 1892 they declared Mali and Veli Losinj to become health spas.

The average temperature in summer is 24 C and in winter 8 C. On the island Losinj they recorded 2600 hours of sun over the whole year. The humidity is between 62% and 73%.

Flora

The mild climate has also an effect on the flora of the islands Cres and Losinj. You can find 1000 different species of plants and of those 230 are being used to produce medicines. You also find about 80 species of exotic plants from around the world.

Beaches and the purity of the ocean 

Our beaches which are mainly rocks and pebble beaches are a popular draw card for sun lovers. There is nothing better than to relax in one of the remote lagoons or if you like visit one of our nude beaches. A lot of our beaches have received the “blue flag” which means the water is exceptionally clean there.
